Montreal Day 1

After arriving in Montreal, we checked into Le Cartier Bed & Breakfast, a very affordable and comfortable B&B (highly recommended!).

Richard, our host, compiles a little pocket book of restaurant recommendations, and this was the same place he was dining at that night, the Comptoir Lyonnais.

They had a table d’hôte for the evening, at $31 per person. The menu was in French, but our host was wonderful to explain in English.

The small bites were quite flavourful!

Veal chop. Quite soft and tender.

Filet of lieu noir. Seems to translate into “saithe” in English, not really familiar with this.

The crême brulée.

Cheese cake and coffee mousse.

The meal was quite nice, and we really enjoyed this as our first meal in Montreal.
